Topic: Anne's hair journal

I started MM yesterday morning. I had been using Acure shampoos and conditioners, and really liked them. But I am trying to go natural ( also living gluten free, all organic, all pasture raised for about 18 months ).
My most urgent hair concerns are
- thinning
- painful bumps all over the scalp making it actually painful to touch my hair ( have had that for 30 years or so )

First day shampoo was Earth Essence followed by Floating Lotus conditioner. My hair felt wonderful coming out of the shower. So clean. I was amazed. Let it air dry. After lunch, my hair looked dipped in grease. I did the brushing, and my hair looks worse and worse. I also have a ton of dandruff all of a sudden. Never had dandruff before. Hm.
Will try pine shale tomorrow. And no conditioner.

Re: Anne's hair journal

Day 2.
I used Pine Shale shampoo. No conditioner. My hair felt great, but looked awful. I usually only wash every other day, but I absolutely need to wash again to day before going to work. Big meeting with regional staff.

Re: Anne's hair journal

Day 3. Apple cider vinegar shampoo. Wow ! What a disaster. My hair looks and feels clean. Great. My face was dark red and inflamed when I stepped out of the shower. It felt like a major sunburn all the way down my arms and back ( and I had an all-day meeting to attend ). I actually considered calling in sick.
No shampoo today ( day 4 ).
Anyone else experience this ? I can't copy and paste the picture. Dark red skin started at the hairline and continued everywhere the shampoo touched. It was gone by evening.

Re: Anne's hair journal

I forgot : in the evening I used Euro oil for my face and neck, and it soothed the skin nicely over night.

Re: Anne's hair journal

Well, I contacted MM support about the redness caused by the vinegar shampoo. They said it was allergic reaction to the vinegar that will get worse with every use. They also said every one of the shampoos contains some vinegar, so I can't use any of them on a regular basis. No MM for me. A box with pre-paid label for a full return is on the way. That's really too bad. I had very high hopes for this product line. They did recommend Primal Life Organics shampoo, which looks somewhat similar ( also clay based, but only one variety ). They said I can keep the brush. Wish I could keep the Euro oil, too.
So if it doesn't work for you, you are not alone.

Re: Anne's hair journal

Very sorry to hear about that you had an allergic reaction to the vinegar shampoo. Don't worry, it happens sometimes and it's a good thing that they are returning you full. Hope your hair and body get well soon.
