Topic: Avoiding the 'brillo' effect

I've been using MM for a long time now, on short hair. I'm growing it out and now that I have length, I find getting my scalp shampooed without my hair matting up like a brillo pad is impossible because the shampoos have less than no slip. It's hard on my fine hair, trying to get the comb through it afterward. I've tried everything I can think of...I dilute the shampoo as much as possible, have tried the conditioners (which don't help that problem AT ALL) and rinse with ACV. How do those of you with long hair do this?
