Topic: Anthony, what does saponified oils mean?

I gather this is the cleansing part of a shampoo bar?

I got this bar:  Pear, Botanicals & Shea Butter {Large Gourmet Soap} (also used as a Shampoo Bar for Hair) Contains: saponified oils, organic pear juice, rice bran oil, shea butter, calendula and chamomile. Pears are rich in pectin, a soluble fiber, which helps protect against environmental toxins. Pears are also a good source of potassium. Pears also contain minerals such as zinc, plus vitamins C, E and some B vitamins. Calendula is a botanical that helps to heal and restore the skin, contains antioxidants and vitamins A & C. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory and skin soother. Chamomile is a botancial that is soothing and calming. Shea Butter contains vitamins A, E & F and is known for it's anti-aging properties and its excellent ability to moisturize both skin and hair. Shea Butter has MANY other good qualities. To learn more Click Here. Wheatgerm Oil - Wheat germ oil is high in vitamin E, A, B1, D, essential fatty acids and protein. Wheatgerm oil is effective at treating dry and aging skin. It is a natural source of vitamin E and is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. It is produced using organically grown wheat and is cold pressed to retain all the natural goodness of the oil. (Not Scented).

and:

Green Tea & Aloe {Large Gourmet Soap} (also used as a Shampoo Bar for Hair) Contains: saponified oils, organic green tea, organic chlorophyll, castor oil, and organic aloe vera gel. Aloe Vera is a moisturizer, heals skin irritation & promotes new skin growth. There are powerful antioxidants in Green Tea that fight viruses, slow aging, and have a beneficial effect on health. Clinical tests have shown that these antioxidants destroy free radicals and have far-reaching positive effects on the entire body. Free radicals are chemicals that damage cells and cell membranes and are associated with the development of conditions like atherosclerosis, diabetic heart disease, and colon cancer. EGCG is a powerful antioxidant (found only in Green Tea), that is 100 times more effective than vitamin C and 25 times more effective than vitamin E. Castor Oil has humectant properties and forms a protective barrier between the skin and outside harsh environmental conditions. Good for those with dry to extremely dry skin because it is extremely emollient and lubricating while penetrating deep into skin and hair. Provides gentle shine and natural luster to hair. It is also a natural emollient that makes hair & skin softer. It is pressed from castor beans. Castor beans are native to tropical Africa. In Northern Africa, castor oil is said to have been discovered in the Egyptian tombs dating as far back as 4000 BC. Castor oil in ancient times was as a body oil and hair oil. (Not Scented).

and:

Egyptian Milk & Honey (1/2 inch slice) also used as a Shampoo Bar for Hair Contains: saponified oils, lot's of honey and milk. (Mild Honey Scent).

as gifts for use on my hair.

Thanks-

It's from Mia Simone's Boutique.

I suggest you read the negative affects of castor oil and the possible toxins released. If interested you can inform me. All the best Hilton.
